Hey, it's only been two months since my last update! I am getting better!
Well, we are moving back to Vermont. We only have about a week to go before we are gone. I am SO grateful to my friend Rob at Ameracash for bringing us here and giving me a job and the money to get setup. It was such a godsend at a time when we really needed a hand. Thank you ROB! And thanks to John Gallagher for making it all possible.
However, Philadelphia is not for us. Raising kids in the city is hard. To live where the good schools are, we have to pay outrageous rental prices. Kids don't get to play freely. No swimming. Small yards...etc. So, I have accepted a job as the morning announcer for a small station in Rural Vermont. We leave the 14th of Nov.
Wonderful things have happened for me musically here in Philly. I met some great people who I hope to maintain long friendships with, I got exposure on National Public Radio and I have been a "pick" on XPN (88.5 FM here in Philly) twice in the last 3 weeks.....unbelievable. Singer/Songwriter Phil Roy has also invited me to open for him which I am VERY excited about. Good things will come from these seeds planted in Philly.
I have remastered "Blacksmith's Fire". This song was recorded in the bedroom of my good friend and the best drummer I have know...Ken Ray Wilemon. He sent me the master tracks which were originally recorded on a Tascam 8 track cassette recorder. I loaded them into my computer and remixed in Cool Edit Pro. You can hear and download the updated version at http://www.soundclick.com/valdavis.
I will let everyone know how the move goes. More to come in the adventure!
