Ok. Ok. So I am blatantly negligent about updating the news page. Now you can say you know one more thing about me :).

It has been a long and arduous summer. I am working fulltime and though it's a job I am grateful to have, I HATE IT! 9-5 is SO hard for me. I want to be recording, writing and playing, but instead I dress up in a tie and come to work. It makes me want to cry or go to sleep. We are trying to move back to Vermont. We did not get to swim even once this summer as joining a "Swim Club" in this area for a family our size costs about $600 per year with a $1000 signup fee. We swam for free ALL last summer in Vermont. My wife has developed an allergic reaction to being surrounded by pollutants. We want to move back to Vermont. Now onto music news.

In late June I discovered the "All Things Considered" page at the National Public radio website. There was a link for submitting your music. It said "Send us a CD or send us a link to your music online. If we like what we hear will get back to you, otherwise, please leave us alone". I decided not to send a CD as I thought it would be a waste and I don't like wasting my CDs. I did not expect to hear back.

About 2 days later, I got an email saying "we liked what we heard, please send us a couple of discs". I sent 2 that day. I waited, and waited, then I emailed and was notified that the producer had been on vacation and had just returned. This is the man I had addressed my the package to. He said he would look for the discs. I called again and he had not found them, so I sent two more. Again, I contacted to see if he had heard my music. "Nope, not yet, I will let you know when I do" was the response I got.

I did pester them a few times more, then gave up in early August and stopped thinking about it.

Last week I got an email notifying me that I would be featured this week (starting Sept 17th) on the "All Things Considered - Open Mic" (http://www.npr.org/programs/asc/openmic). This is a rating thing. I hate being rated, but that's how you get featured the following week. PLEASE HELP!

I will let everyone know how it goes.
